Today’s scripture portion is taken from the letter to the Ephesians Chapter 2 :Verse 10 “We are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
Inspirational Story: You are made to Fly High
Long time ago; someone gifted two eaglets to a King. The breed of eaglets was very good and the King had never seen such magnificent eaglets before. The king was very pleased with the gift & decided to hire an experienced caretaker for them.
A few months later, the King asked the man taking care of the eagles, “I want to see their flight. You signal them to fly in the sky . The man did the same. Both the eagles started fluttering as soon as they saw the signal. But where one eagle was touching the heights of the sky, the other flew for some seconds and returned to the branch where it was earlier sitting -the same branch from where he started flying.
The king became curious to know the reason of the contrasting behaviour of the eagles .
Both the eagles were very special for the king, and he desperately wanted to see the second eagle too flying high in the sky.
Then one day something strange happened, the king saw that both the birds were soaring high in the sky.
The caretaker informed the king that he had simply cut the branch where the eagle would usually sit. As there was no branch, he had no option but to fly. And which he did very well.
Reflection:
Just as the eagle didn’t realize that he could actually fly high and always liked to remain on the branch, we also sometimes underestimate our worth and don’t realize our true potential. In life, we become habituated of doing certain things. Therefore, to fly high in life and unlock our true potential, it is necessary that we cut the branch of comfort zone which is becoming a hindrance in success. Great things in life are only achieved out of the comfort zone.
Thought for the Day:
Dare to learn, to be different, to set your goals, to move out of your comfort zone, to be persistent.
Let Us Pray:
Dear Lord,we praise and exalt thy Holy name. Thank you for the gift of life, good health, a new day .Father ,there may be times when we feel defeated, this shouldn’t stop us from reaching our dreams and achieving our highest potential. It shouldn’t cause us to doubt on Your unfailing kindness and mercies which is new for each one of us every morning. May we explore new avenues, step out of our comfort zones and strive towards giving in our best for all the tasks assigned to us.This prayer we ask through Christ our Lord.Amen.
