POEM

EMPATHY

I live under your skin

You too live under mine,

For human hopes and emotion

Under our skin do rhyme.

So let me mourn your loss

While you partake in happiness mine,

For how sweet it is to hear the temple bell

When they do together chime.

We breathe in the same air

We live in the same time,

So why not we share our togetherness

And lead a life sublime?

PRAYER

Let us pray

Kindly join your hands and bow your head for the prayer.

Lord, you understand the needs of those impoverished in mind, body, or spirit, and never shamed or shunned them. May we come to recognize our own vulnerability and our longing to be healed. As we encounter our own pain, let it deepen in us, a capacity to feel for others. Enlarge our souls, expand our minds, and soften our hearts towards all who suffer.

We ask this prayer in Jesus’ name.

Amen.

Let us say ‘The Lord’s Prayer’ together.

SIGNIFICANCE OF THE DAY

21st April is celebrated as “World Creativity and Innovation Day”.

According to Scott Adams “Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. Art is knowing which ones to keep. World Creativity and Innovation Day was established to encourage everyone to dig deep and find their own inner talents. With efforts supported by the United Nations, World Creativity and Innovation Day encourages every individual to imagine what it would be like to live in a better world with different solutions and more cooperation.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

“Empathy is seeing with the eyes of another, listening with the ears of another and feeling with the heart of another.”

PLEDGE

Kindly stand to attention for the Pledge and the National anthem.

Thank you and have a wonderful day.
