Aadil has been passionate about cricket for a long time and we would like to appreciate all the hard work he has been doing to reach his goals. He was recently selected by MCC and participated in a tour to England where he was the captain of the U-16 team.

Here is what he wants to say about his journey.

Name: Aadil Kagalwala
Age: 14
School: Christ Church School

Cricket is my passion and I have now made my journey to reach the optimum level through all the paths available. I joined the Islam Gymkhana club to work on my game while playing for the club & I got selected for the Mumbai cricket club (MCC).

After a few weeks MCC selected me for a tour to England to play with their clubs & school naming a few; Eton college, Harrow, Hampton, Wanstead, Slough, Invicta, Osterley, Chessington etc. While on the tour I was named the captain for the under 16 team. Under my leadership out of 9 matches played, we won 8 of them. Individually I scored 347 runs in 9 matches at an average of 38.5.

Scored my first half-century against SLOUGH. I was fortunate enough to be trained by professional coaches such as Jwala Singh sir, Wasim Jaffer sir & Vinayak Samant sir. During the tour, we had a practice session at LORDS: the Mecca of cricket where we were accompanied by an Indian & 2 Mumbai under 19 players.

I even play for the community club teams & overall I play for 8 different teams. Recently I played a 3-match series at Islam gymkhana in which I scored 159 runs which included an unbeaten 104 at an average of 79.5. I just got selected by a club to play the Kanga league, it’s one of the biggest cricket tournaments in Mumbai

I hope to continue my cricketing journey through grit & hard work to reach my dream to play for the countryS
