I will lift up my eyes to the mountains – where does my help come from? My help comes
from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.

Story- Lift up your eyes

Back in the days of sailing ships, a young sailor went to sea for the first time. En route the
voyage, the ship encountered a heavy storm in the North Atlantic. The sailor was commanded
to go aloft the mast and trim the sails. As the young sailor started to climb, he made a mistake
and looked down. The role of the ship combined with the tossing of the waves made him
extremely frightened. The young man started to lose his balance. At that moment, an older
sailor underneath him shouted, “Look up, son ‼ Look up‼” The young sailor looked up and
regained his balance.

Reflection: Difficult situations in our life should not make us lose hope. We must look up
to the Lord who is in heaven. He will help us and strengthen us so that we will regain
our balance amidst our daily toils.

Thought for the day: Prayer is the link that connects us to God. Time spent in prayer is
never wasted.

Let us pray: Almighty God, we thank you for bringing us to the beginning of a new day.
Lord, help us not to be frightened and depressed when we come across difficulties in our
lives. Help us to remember that you are in control and look up to us. Let your guidance,
protection, and presence be with us forever. I ask this in Jesus’s most precious name. Amen.

Now, Simran Badalia will lead us in the Lord’s Prayer.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come; thy will be done on
earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we
forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from
evil. For Thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever and ever. Amen.
